About Us

Student & Alumni Affairs (HEPA) is one of the 16 main Divisions under the Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) Service Center. HEPA bears a significant responsibility in student development to ensure that UNIMEL produces graduates who are holistic, entrepreneurial, and balanced. Under the management of HEPA, there are seven primary units responsible for implementing various student programs and services:

  1. Student Activity Unit
  2. Sports, Recreation, and Co-curriculum Unit
  3. Student Welfare Unit
  4. Student Support Unit (Guidance & Counselling)
  5. Disciplinary Unit
  6. Accommodation  Unit
  7. Student Health Unit

 

   HEPA provides several facilities, including the Al-Tariq Ziyad Stadium, Residential Colleges, Student Support Room, SRC Room 1 (Student Representative Council), Multipurpose Rooms 1 and 2, the Student Center, and the Student Health Clinic. These facilities, which also serve as hubs for interaction and student community activities, are established to support student needs.    In addition, HEPA offers a wide range of student services, including Student Financial Assistance, Local Student Insurance (Student Health Protection Scheme), Alumni Networking, Guidance and Counselling, Student Accommodation, Student Activities, Stadium, Facilities, Equipment and Sports Amenities Bookings, Student Health Clinic and Student Representative Council (SRC/MPP). Through this holistic approach, HEPA is committed to ensuring that every UNIMEL student receives comprehensive support to achieve excellence in academics, character, and leadership throughout their campus life.

  • To produce a generation of knowledgeable and pious (Taqwa-driven) Muslims through the empowerment of leadership activities.
  • To empower graduates with entrepreneurial attributes, high academic achievement, self-actualization, and resilience.
  • To coordinate and supervise student activities.
  • To manage the distribution of welfare assistance to eligible students and remain responsive to the needs of the student body.
Al-Tariq Ziyad Stadium

The stadium is utilized not only for sports but also as a venue for various student activities. Students, staff, and external parties may book the stadium by completing the Sports & Co-curricular Facility Application Form, which is available for download on this website (please click Download -> Sports & Co-curricular Activity Forms). The completed form must be submitted along with an official application letter or program approval. These documents can be submitted at the HEPA Counter or via email to hepa@unimel.edu.my. Please be informed that bookings made by external parties will be subject to a fee. All applications must be submitted at least seven (7) working days prior to the intended date of use.

Within the Student Residential College area, there are six residential blocks currently available for use. These consist of four female student blocks (Blocks A, B, C, and D) and two male student blocks (Blocks G and H), along with six houses for Residential College Fellows. Each residential block has a capacity to accommodate approximately 556 students. Every block offers five different room packages (Packages A1, B1, B2, C1, and C2) with varying prices based on student capacity and provided amenities. Package A1 features rooms with en-suite bathrooms (attached toilets). Priority for this package is given to OKU cardholders (Persons with Disabilities), and it is limited to only one room per block. Packages B1 and B2 also offer en-suite bathrooms, with availability limited to four rooms and 12 rooms respectively. Package B1 accommodates two students, while Package B2 accommodates three students. Finally, Packages C1 and C2 do not include en-suite bathrooms and are limited to 36 rooms and 146 rooms respectively. Package C1 is designed for two students per room, whereas Package C2 accommodates three students.

The Student Support Room is located within the Student & Alumni Affairs (HEPA) office. This room is used for guidance and counseling sessions, whether a student is referred by UNIMEL staff or has voluntarily scheduled an appointment. Students can book an appointment by navigating to the services section and clicking the “Counseling Session Appointment” link on this page.

SRC Room 1 is located on Level 1 of the Student Center. This room is available for both staff and students for meetings, discussions, gatherings, or student activities. Any student or staff member wishing to book this room must do so through HEPA.

Students may make a booking by completing and submitting the Student Meeting and Gathering Approval Form, accompanied by an official application letter from their respective club or society, to HEPA. This approval form can be found in the Download section under Student, Sports, and Co-curricular Activity Forms.

Meanwhile, staff members who wish to book the room are required to send an official application letter or memo via email to hepa@unimel.edu.my. Once the application is approved, the key can be collected one day before the scheduled program. Finally, keys must be returned one day after the program concludes. Any delay by students in returning the keys to HEPA may result in disciplinary action.

Meeting Room

Multipurpose Rooms 1 and 2 are located on Level 1 of the Student Center. These rooms are managed by the Student Representative Council (SRC/MPP) and are available for students to use for gatherings, meetings, and student activities. Any student wishing to book these rooms must first obtain permission from the SRC before seeking final approval from HEPA. For HEPA’s approval, students are required to complete and submit the Student Meeting and Gathering Form, accompanied by an official application letter from their respective club or society.

The Student Center is located within the Student Residential College area. This center is equipped with various amenities, including a convenience store, printing shop, laundry service, cafeteria, male and female prayer rooms (surau), toilets, accessible toilets (OKU), and common areas (SRC Room 1, Multipurpose Rooms 1 and 2). The convenience store at the center sells essential items such as toiletries, basic medicines, and instant food. The laundry service operates on a rotating schedule for male and female students. This service utilizes tokens or cards, which can be purchased through a vending machine. A key advantage of using the laundry card is the ability to reload it for future use. Furthermore, the cafeteria operates from Monday to Sunday, from 7.00 AM to 11.00 PM. (Please note that cafeteria operating hours are subject to change during semester breaks).

The UNIMEL Student Health Clinic is equipped with medical supplies and an ambulance used to transport students to the hospital during emergencies. The clinic is staffed by certified Medical Assistant and Nurses. Tuition Fee Assistance (Outstanding Fees)

Tuition Fee Assistance (Outstanding Fees) refers to financial aid specifically allocated to settle unpaid (outstanding) tuition fees for UNIMEL students. This assistance is provided on a one-off basis.
